Easy Orchids – Cymbidium Red Baker

Blooming, Care and Culture, Classification, Growing Indoors, Growing Outdoors
I define “easy” orchids as those that can be grown indoors in mild climates in homes that have the heating on during the daytime in winter.
This is an attractive, early-season hybrid that produces upright flower spikes with up to a dozen blooms during the fall. The flower spikes last well into winter. It is one among many hundreds of compact types raised around the world during the last twenty years for the pot-plant trade. However, it is not difficult to keep this hybrid going year after year with the minimum of attention indoors, or in a cool greenhouse. Placing it outdoors for the summer will greatly increase its flowering capacity the following year.
Flower Size: 2 1/2 inches (6 cm) across.
Flower Spike: 16 inches (40 cm).
Plant Height: 26 inches (65 cm).
Pot Size: 8 inches (20 cm).
