Popular Orchid Plant Care – Miltonia

Blooming, Care and Culture, Classification, Growing Indoors
Miltonia species are difficult to care for and are best left to the commercial grower or orchid enthusiast with a greenhouse.
They do not like temperature fluctuations and demand constantly moist air. Fortunately there are Miltonia hybrids nowadays and these are much less demanding; stand the pot in a bright spot away from direct sunlight and ensure a minimum temperature of 55 degrees F (13 degrees C) in the winter. The fragrant blooms measure 1 1/2-3in (4-8cm) across and have a pansy-like appearance; hence the common name Pansy Orchid! The usual colors are white, pink, and red and the usual flowering time is May-July. The arching stems may need some support.
