In this post I give the general dead-heading requirements for orchid plants. But please keep in mind that each orchid has its own cultural requirements (see the many posts I’ve created on this blog for plant specific growing guidelines).
Dead-heading
With most orchids you should cut off flowering stems near the base once the blooms have faded. With Phalaenopsis the stem should be cut a little below the bottom flower so that it will be able to flower again on the same stalk.
